I graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor's in Anthropology and a minor in Art, and earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Texas and North Carolina.

How I work

I am fierce about hope and very gentle about suffering. I will never minimize what you've been through, and I will never stop believing there's a way through it. I'm practical and down to earth, and I also live in the deep end where what we feel matters.

Clients have described me as intense, soothing, gentle, a chisel, a witness, and a sledgehammer. I meet people where they are, and I don't leave them there.

I don't expect healthy behavior from people who are fighting for their lives and their sanity. I don't believe in overreactions, only under-explained ones. If you're responding in a way that looks excessive from the outside, my first question is always: what are you actually reacting to?

I'm a good fit for you if you want both compassion and truth.

Outside the therapy room

When I'm not with clients, I'm usually writing fiction, playing video games, or out on some adventure with my family. I share my office with four cats, who consider my sessions their personal business and can often be found lurking in the background.

Think we might be a good fit?
